Elliott Banks-Browne’s ‘Resurgence’ Part Two

Elliott Banks-Browne spent 2015 fighting his way back to fitness after a sickening crash at the Glasgow round of the British Arenacross Series saw the double British MX2 champion sidelined with a badly broken leg.

We documented Elliott’s return to fitness in this two part series titled “Resurgence”. Part 2 was shot at 2 separate tracks – SevenTwo Motoparc near Oswestry in the UK which is a brand new facility, and a private track in Suffolk. With bad weather leading up to the 1st day of filming we were lucky to arrive to perfect conditions, with sun shining down on the track and moody skies in the distance we caught some great, dramatic footage.

Shortly after filming in Wales we travelled to Ipswich where Elliott trains with fellow RedBull team mate Jake Nicholls at his private facility. Both riders have suffered a similar path of bad luck, sustaining injuries over the past couple of seasons, which is a story we wanted to explore in this film. With hopes of capturing a sequence of star-lapses to transition from Wales to Ipswich, we planned our filming around the forecast & again, got very lucky. Each 4 second time-lapse took roughly 2 hours to film taking us straight through the night till sunrise, but perseverance paid off & we caught 5 brilliant sequences which were completely worth the effort. With no time to waste, we packed the Canon 5D away and spent the following day filming on track as EBB & Jake put in their moto’s. From the outset I wanted to push some personal boundaries with this piece, I’m happy, and feel that the final film reflects this.
